Postscript on the bread
It looks as if the bread worked fine. Nice crust, good crumb. The flavor is good, too, probably the new whole-wheat flour.
The white bits are oatflakes. Eating a slice toasted right now, testing for you. It's good.
It slices and toasts a treat. This is mostly organic whole-wheat from some new England company, with one cup Gold Medal white and one cup oats. Best texture yet.
You have inspired me to buy some flour and baking soda!
ReplyDeleteGo for it! Homebaked bread is so good.

DeleteYum! I love a fairly dense bread so this one would be definitely on my list.
