The flowers are fading now, except for the stout hearted Montauk daisies which wait till October to bloom and cheer up the neighbors.
And indoors there's been a Bear Escalation. A local friend has now set up her three bears, one a baby in a bib, beautiful white fancy cloth, for their teddy tea. China cups and saucers all round, small set for the baby.
So word got back and Ruth decided to up the ante at her table with a miniature cup and saucer for Ursula. Whereupon Fred ordered up a seasonal table decoration, a Montauk Daisy.
So, the battle of the Right to Bear Teas is underway. Winner gets cake.
pandemic fun...i am a bear lover!!!
ReplyDeleteI have a few bears who would love to come and join you! From small to huge. You will need a bigger table for sure.
ReplyDeleteMy teddy bear is as old as I am so coming to tea would be a hard trip for him. We shall think of all y'all.
ReplyDeleteThat's cute.
ReplyDeleteI love it - we all need a little whimsy during these times. I suppose the D's are ever so jealous though.
ReplyDeleteThe D's are upstairs in the spare room where all the plants are, they refer to it as the conservatory. They don't know about Teddy teas. I plan to keep it that way. I can't be baking for four bears and five Dollivers. They'd all want their own flower, too.
DeleteAnd, no doubt, new 'taking tea' clothing too....they are a most demanding lot.
