Nor'easter incoming, but soup and flowers

I had a nice chat on Thursday with Jeff, the Misfits driver and we agreed the delivery software was rubbish.

He said there's a meeting soon and they've had so many complaints about the new software they're thinking of reverting to the old one. He too doesn't like being unable to message his customers.

So I promised to push again for change and he left my box and wished me a good day.

Strawberries for jam, perfect with the yogurt, this batch with vanilla, lemon juice and amchur, great flavor.

Eggs for upcoming quiche when the cheese supplies catch up. Potatoes for parboiling and roasting with the remnants of the chicken.  This served several meals then made the stock for my nor'easter soup.

Pumpkin, kale, potato soup, seasoned with shawarma spice mix, salt, Better than Bouillon and cayenne.  Bits of chicken and homegrown chives for garnish

Lemons because I need more zest and slices. These are beautiful, too big for the supermarket.
Couple of treats got in there, too. A person needs treats now and then.

Thank you for all your bio offerings. Such a talented and varied group, and the invitation's still open.

The nor'easter will be with us for a couple of days.

My storm prep consisted of securing the outdoor chairs, bringing in one lightweight item, taking out the trash and recycling, and picking flowers.

I figured they'd be flattened by wind and rain, so maybe a bouquet was a good idea. Chrysanthemums and Autumn Joy sedum.

Vital for your spirits.

Happy day everyone, stay dry if it applies. I wish we could share the rain around with states that are bone dry.

Every day please

Heart test went fast, as did the chocolates

Friday's test went much faster than anticipated, because, the cardio tech tols me, I'm small! Easy to read the heart when there's little flesh around it!

He said he'd expected a very large woman to appear, because my age and hip replacement usually indicate that, and was amused to see me trotting in.

Results on Monday.

Handsome Son kindly came straight from his early shift to drive me in my car to the doctor's office. Back home we shared a large pot of tea and the chocolates, which are now almost history.

He looked at the linky stuff and concluded the best you can do is avoid hitting the icon, easier said than done on a small screen. We'll see if my efforts work.

Today's menu was a really nice fusilli in sauce from Wil Yeung, and here you end up putting the pasta in the sauce and cooking a couple more minutes.

This is new to me, because of Chambersburg, the Burg, Trenton, influence. There you eat homemade pasta, literally made by Nonna in the restaurant kitchen, and from-scratch sauce, only sparingly applied. Delicious and when the pasta is handmade fresh, a great way to treat it.

But though the fusilli is organic, it's dried, so putting it in the sauce works. Enough for another meal here.

And here's the giant foster plant now in the upstairs collection.

Handsome Son commented that this is Gary's greenhouse for the winter!

Happy day everyone, look out for weather over the weekend,  a nor'easter forecast here.

Rain, then

Storms, lightning, thunder, rain drumming overnight, continuing all day.

These and loud alerts on my phone in case I hadn't noticed.

Handsome Son  is coming to dinner tomorrow all being well. I already have it organized. So I guess my little corner is okay for now. Hoping for good outcomes for the rest of the region, though.
