Proof of delivery

New Year's Day I sliced up the banana bread and delivered to several neighbors to wish them a happy New Year.

It was bitterly cold and windy with a skim of snow and I tried my footing to see if it t was slippery. Not as long as I proceeded with caution.

Mark my footsteps, good my page tread thou in them boldly.

Happy neighbors, and one came over later with split pea soup, yay.  She says it's gone very thick which made me wonder if I could convert it into pease pudding, which I love. With the last of the ham. Hmm.

Making plans, meaning plans about making,  involve that nice piece of cardboard and small amounts of handspun yarn. And weaving a seamless pocket type potholder.

Thereby using up handspun, upcycling the cardboard as a loom, and avoiding all the small burns I get on the back of my hand from the upper stove shelf.

You see the openings at the edge. I may insert skewers to maintain an evenly spaced warp. I haven't measured but it's probably 6-8 epi.

This will be fitted into online games and reading Griffiths, Delderfield, and listening to Boland. It's all go.

Happy day everyone, White rabbits and a happy New Year. And Freecycle, the gift that keeps on giving

Happy new year also white rabbits!

I decided the Tiny Tapestry might as well be a bookmark for my book of daily poems

So it's a working object now.

And I offer various thoughts for the new year, which, amazingly I saw in, reading in bed.

So here we are, amazingly, at a new year. Happy day, everyone! Resolve to enjoy. I think that's a good resolution.

Woke early to the New Year

 Happy New Year again.

New start, and I'm feeling bit by bit better, normal optimism starting again. White Rabbits.

Last year's calendar, usually recycled for the new year, will this year be cut down to make a notebook. The illustrations are too good to discard.

And I have plans about cardboard art. And today being rainy and mild, soon I'll be looking out for the first signs of the snowdrops I planted in the fall.

Plenty to look forward to.

Happy day everyone, happy year, everyone! I hope we all have something to look forward to.

Late today but oh well

Yesterday I managed to make a pot of soup, with the last of the game hen and various Christmas vegetables. It came out well considering, and was very welcome yesterday then today for lunch. The kind you drink  steaming hot from a mug, simple.  No pictures, all I could do was do it.

Gary stopped in last evening to check, Handsome Son came over this afternoon on his way to work, brought cold supplies, take out all my recycling before the New Year, and bring in the mail.

Some real mail in the box , there waiting several days, and now I get to see. Thank you everyone who sent cards and wishes for Christmas and the New Year, I'm finally getting to enjoy them.

Today's blogging energy went into finally managing to take a longed-for shower and shampoo, then resting after.

Speaking of supply chain issues, the latest gloves have been done for days, but as you know, shipping issues.

I'm hoping for next week when the PO opens.  What the mfrs call unavoidable delay!

Happy day everyone. I'm so lucky to have people willing to make sure I'm okay, including you, dear blogistas, and the friends who emailed checking in. You're so appreciated.

Now I'm staying firmly on the sofa reading a favorite Barbara Pym, Less than Angels. My favorite character in all fiction, Catherine Oliphant.

And Alaric, who might end up marrying her, who knows, anthro returned from Africa with animai masks of red beans and palm fibers. He thinks how restful it would be for older people to wear them, no concern about looks or having to adopt required expressions of interest or concern! How I agree.

With that thought, Happy New Year everyone! Take care of yourself this year.
