Beautiful sunny day in the 70s, nice wind, home after walking, pick up the mail, then afternoon tea, last of the sweet potato bread. And a faithful weekly art postcard from dear honorary granddaughter.
It doesn't get any better than this. It just doesn't.
Hope the perfect day continued!
ReplyDeleteYes. Centering prayer group with friends online. Dm convo with another friend.
ReplyDeleteLooks like perfection.
ReplyDeleteA charming post, I love it.
ReplyDeletesimple pleasures and contentment is where it's at.
ReplyDeleteI think readers with resident family and with grandchildren even if far away, may miss that the biggest thing is the postcard. I will never have bio grandchildren, and that pain is mitigated a bit by having my online honorary granddaughter, a hugely talented and lovely young Canadian woman, literally young enough to be a granddaughter, with whom I've been through some adventures. She doesn't have access to grandparents, so this works for both of us. The day her pc arrives, despite Canada Post and the USPS, I'd always a high point.
ReplyDeleteIs, not I'd. It changes after I've posted, dangit.
DeleteShe's a wonderful granddaughter - honorary or not. There are many of us who have biological 'grands' and we don't get mail from them. Mine aren't old enough to send things but I seriously doubt they ever will. They get mail from us all the time but who knows if that will ever be reciprocated.
DeleteI agree. Bio relatives can't be counted on as a matter of course.
DeleteNo, days like that are perfect.
