Wednesday was another day of interest and surprises

House cleaning today, so I left them to it Handsome Son gave me a ride to the library, and I took in the current gallery show.

Rashmi Choudhary is an Indian artist and I have excerpted her artist statement to do her more justice than I since I don't know a lot about Indian art, other than the strong traditional structure to it.

It's intricate, finely wrought work and I just selected a few pieces to show you. I was impressed. There's an atmosphere around this work. And notice that the visitor's book is handmade. It was lovely to handle.

Then to my pleasure, Handsome Son said not to bother with a ride service, he'd come back and pick me up, since he was free

Then he stayed the afternoon with tea and cake, making inroads there, and catching up with the news all round. That was an unexpected pleasure.

While we were out, I picked up this year's flower seeds from the dollar store. Smaller selection than last year, and more expensive, but still a good potential flower area.

And the public puzzle is seasonal.

Home to a clean house and tea, flower garden set,  and visiting with Son, it doesn't get much better.

Happy day everyone, I certainly had one.

And I ate all the colors for supper, mango chunks, mixed greens, feta cheese crumbles, toasted baguette.

    1. I really like the black and white fine pen works. Seen in person, there are many fine hair like lines.

  3. So Boud, were you an artist in your younger days? Or have you always just enjoyed art? Those paintings are lovely. Glad you had a good day with your son.
Jack's meds have been adjusted and what a difference. He had early dismissal today so we took Charlie for a long walk and after supper, we all played Trouble.

    1. Very glad to hear good news about Jack.
About art: I've been a serious exhibiting artist for nearly fifty years, with works in many collections, and was invited to show two works in a gallery last October. I had an art blog which I folded into this one a while back to make it simpler to read and follow. I also taught art to adults for many years, creating workshops. It was pretty exciting. This was in addition to being fully employed. I was busy! Happy life.

  4. Yes, it does indeed sound like a grand day! I like the featured art, particularly the portrait of the blue god and his wife (not really sure who it's meant to be).

    3. Oh yes, they caught my eye too, especially the one that is (for lack of a better word) seashell-shaped.

    4. Yes, I'd been there. And now I've somehow spent an hour on a fruit scene, thanks! The tablet isn't very good for it, the whole scene vanishing a lot, but I did enjoy playing. Other players completed it in minutes, but I bet they had great big computers with mice and everything, so there.
