Road trip!

All the way to the bookdrop

 at the library

in the next town! I was actually nervous about driving, doing so little of it these days.

But we did it, and returned the books which I wanted out before I forgot they weren't mine and lost track of them.

My nervousness was not helped, on the way home, by a loud clang,a flash, and an alert on the dashboard to tell me: routine maintenance due soon. What drama queens design these ideas? I nearly went off the road with shock.

However, home again.  Breathing quietly.

    1. I posted using the new blogger. Which sent your comment to spam, and I can't find out how to respond to reader comments at all. So I've reverted to what they call legacy blogger to retrieve and publish your comment and respond.

I'm glad I'm not the only driver who gets unnerved at these helpful alerts. I'm just getting the hang of this car after driving another for 20 years, gimme a break!

    2. I intended this for Ms Moon there, even clicked on her and now it's here. Bear with me. If it's not one thing it's another!

And I'm planning to enjoy the afternoon if possible!

  2. My daughter and I decided the other day that those damn dashboard lights should be called "Anxiety Alerts!"
It is a strange feeling to get out and drive, isn't it?

    1. Our library is not even scheduled to open. This is just the book drop for items we had borrowed before lockdown. We are still in crisis mode. One day they'll open!

  7. My car flashes up a variety of indecipherable icons which just alarms me since I don't know what they all mean!

    1. The alert gave a code, which worried me until I got home and consulted the owner's manual. That's when I found all the hysteria was about a few minor maintenance items. These guys don't seem to have much idea of relative priorities.

  8. Good thing our car doesn't have an audible alarm or I WOULD drive off the road! Ours has stupid little icons which always require a consult with the manual to discover what they might be trying to tell us. Our book drop has been closed at our library but is supposed to re-open on Monday....good thing they're forgiving any late fees!
