Have to love the pavement art. There was a bit on the news a couple of weeks ago about a fire department going throughout their town and handing out free chalk to all the kids so they could decorate the town. Great fun for both parties!
I've completely overcome my cultural objection to sidewalk chalk since being exposed to Indian children decorating their front steps and sidewalk for Diwali and other festivals. It's fine!
