Special post for London and environs readers

Just a few more days to see an amazing fiber arts exhibit at the Barbican. There's also a huge wrap outside the building, see Steve's Shadows and Light blog post today.

Here are a few of the significant works, about the language of textiles in recording history and protesting injustice, personal and political

If you can attend, please do! This is a historic exhibit.

  1. Oh would love to and when living in London would have done so after work one evening. London is so full of things to see and do and participate in every day, all the time that it has to be one of the most diverse and exciting cities in the world. Some of the cultural stuff is controversial, but if even that controversy gets people to engage and think then it has done a good job.

  2. Thanks for the plug! I wish I'd been able to see the exhibit when I went to see "Purple Hibiscus" on Sunday -- I didn't have time. But I might get there yet!

    1. So would I. But these few artists I picked probably have exhibits elsewhere. Maybe we'll get lucky.

    1. Yes, I agree. It's derivative. But the exhibit isn't.

    1. Two people were there too early, you'll be too late, and the person who lives there might not have time!

  11. Sounds (and looks) like a pretty amazing exhibit. At least we got to see part of it here.
