Everything everywhere all at once, wheee!

Yesterday was a perfect sitting outside and reading day. Warm enough, but no mosquitoes yet.

I was reading Lucy Worsley's Agatha Christie bio, and noting changes of the dove guard, and sleeping until the sound of happy kids climbing trees woke me.

I'd made a gallon of lemon scented laundry detergent earlier

The original recipe was for five gallons, so one gallon was very cheap to make. I'll report back on how effective it is.

And knitting, spinning and weaving are plunging on

And, in case you think I've forgotten how to sew, here I am this morning, feeling good and rockin' my handsewn jacket I made from fabric woven by Joanne.

Outside, the potatoes are coming through, white and red, and I forget which is which.

And Mrs Dove is still at work.

If my math is right, we should see hatching by later this week.

Meanwhile, do you fancy a Haggard Hawks puzzle?

Happy day everyone I'm making All The Things, so you don't have to.

  1. Oh, thank you for making all the things!

You have beautiful blue eyes. And you can make laundry detergent. I'm going to read that book.

    1. See how much time and energy I'm saving you? The book is pretty good. I'm reading it on the hoopla library loan thing.

  2. Joanne’s weaving is beautiful and you did a great job on the jacket!

We try to spend some time on the patio every day now even if it means wearing a winter jacket!

  3. The next word on the list is an alleged aphrodisiac -- appropriate with Spring fertility bustin' out all over!

  4. Great jacket! And you do look pretty in it.
I am so excited to see the baby birds who hatch. I hope the mama and papa can keep them safe.

    1. They're in a good place, invisible from above, and the parents are doing a great job of sitting.

  6. Beautiful weaving! What a neat idea to make a jacket from Joanne's fabric. Looks pretty on you, too. I would like photos of your art wall. We had a sideways view when you did the cardboard art. You are a bottomless pit of creativity! The puzzle has me stumped. For now. Maybe later I'll have an epiphany. 😁

  7. Nice jacket
Amazing photo, that is a real dove! How exciting it must be to know chicks will be hatching soon.

  8. Not my favourite raw but with bacon and worcestershire sauce - delicious.
The weaving is looking great. Those colours really sing.

  9. Great clue! The yarn I'm weaving was from Rose. This is definitely a group blog effort today.

  10. That ramie settled in well! Nice drape. It looks nice, as does the rest. Your weaving tension is especially and great selvages.

    1. I really like this little jacket, nice drape, as you say. And thank you for the nice words about the weaving. My skills are coming along. I love backstrap, so responsive to my movements, more than any other style of loom I've used.

  11. Look at you - pretty in your hand made jacket, making all the things, and growing things too! We just got the garden plot ready to start planting once it dries out. I'm sporting welts from insect bites from working out there on Saturday before it started raining. We've had so much rain this spring the mosquitos, or some other kind of biting insect, are already a force.

    1. I may envy your climate but not the biting that comes with it.

  12. That jacket is really nice! Looks great on you. And we may as well sit outdoors as much as we can before the mosquitoes show up!

    1. Between heat and mosquitoes, summer isn't a sitting outside time.

  13. Nice way to spend time - drowsing in the nice weather. Our spring appears to be done and humid, hot summer is here - ugh.

  16. “No mosquitoes” was the best part of my recent woodsy excursion looking for trilliums. They will arrive in force any minute now. 😢

  17. One thing that can be said about you is that I'm sure you never get bored. You always have something on the go and constantly learn new things. I don't know how you find enough hours in the day for everything you do!

  18. Nice to "see" you Boud and you and the jacket look lovely together! i read that bio by Lucy Worseley and found it very entertaining. I learned a lot more about Ms. Christie. How wonderful to be able to sit outdoors to read.

    1. I like Lucy's reasoned approach to the mysterious disappearance. More sense than most accounts.
