Holding on, here's a puzzle

Thanks for all the good wishes and encouragement. I'm very tired from coughing but did sleep better, so there's that.

And Misfits, supposed to arrive last Friday, has been rescheduled daily and they now say tomorrow. They had given me a take it or leave it delivery date which wasn't my choice, because they said they had delivery problems.  I'm wondering whether produce on the road in sub zero temps for five days will be edible. I've been checking the step daily.

No photos, not interesting to see me lying on the sofa, but here's an interesting puzzle. There are several possible answers to this.

Remember to hold off your answer! Clues only.
Happy day everyone, as much as we can manage anyway.

  1. I don't do those kinds of puzzles, but I do wish you and your groceries well.

    1. You got the pattern. But I've published your answer, because this is a puzzle that can continue, other possible answers in a continuous chain. It's a clever concept.

  4. Glad to hear you're on the couch. Rest and fluids, rest and fluids.

Boxing Day without the Box! Let us know its condition when it finally arrives. Knowing your freezer, I trust you won't starve while waiting. Hoping you have lots of prepared soups that just need thawing and reheating.

    1. I have the backup game hen to pick at. Alas, all the soup is gone, the Misfits box was to bring the makings of the next batch. But I expect to survive. I
rarely get too low to have anything to eat.

    2. Alas, the mia box has the makings of the next batch of soup, the last one being used up. But I have a backup (!) game hen to pick at, and veggies for the original Christmas dinner. There are backups for them in the freezer!

  6. Glad you're feeling better. won't Misfits give you a refund if the fresh produce arrives in bad shape?

    1. I'm hoping to feel better soon. Misfits will process an instant refund. But that's no use to me, since I'm not well enough to go shopping and replace the items. I will probably need help starting my car, too, which hasn't been running for several days in below zero temps. All in all, I've had better days!

    1. I hope so. It's a blessing that I don't have commitments to reorganize. So there's that.

    1. Yes, it's a bit rugged. I think I've got spoiled with never getting sick for nearly three years! I've gone soft.

  11. Glad you got some better sleep. Hopefully the misfits will not be frozen! As for that puzzle, I'm completely stumped.

  12. Can you not get grocery delivery in your area? My deliveries are same day and contactless and easy to set up and request online and I rarely have any problem. I hope your box arrives and that you have enough in the meantime,

  13. Getting some decent sleep is something that's underrated and even more so when you're feeling rotten. Sending you more get well vibes....
