Now it's a candyrama

Yesterday, I got out the heath bar, or health bar, making kit I put together a while back, and made this

Here I inscribed, more or less, halwayat, Arabic for candy

And here's a piece

The humidity was a bit high, impending storm, so it's a bit grainy, but still very edible. Ready for distribution among young friends.

In the middle of all this, contractor friend Michael came over with his annual distribution of homemade peppermint bark! Almost enough candy around here.

And I did get the jigsaw puzzle finished just in time, since it's due back today. This one was  very satisfying.

Happy day everyone, puzzles do come out eventually. The current word puzzle which you probably got with no trouble, was YULETIDE.  Great clues from Tom back there. It pays to read comments.

And in honor of the visit from Zelenskyy, flying his flag big today.

  1. It would never occur to me to make a heath bar! But they look yummy. That puzzle must have been a challenge.

    1. The heath bar doesn't have the crushed almonds it's supposed to, but one of the little recipients is allergic to nuts, so I omitted them. His mom will be happy.

  2. That candy looks quite edible! I would have had to sample quite a bit, I'm afraid, for quality control. This is probably why I do not make candy. I just love that puzzle.

    1. Candy is fun to make, but not too often. I have to give it away quickly before my sampling gets out of hand.

  3. Marvelous candy. I had the feeling I wouldn't guess the word. Learning a language is rewarding.

  4. For the same reason I rarely make candy, my sampling gets way out of hand. Sure does look good! That puzzle looks like it was a challenge. Congratulations!

  6. Yum - the candy (both of them) looks so good! Resident Chef has been on a chocolate-making kick here so of course we NEED to taste test them to be sure they're fit to eat. Nice of us to do our duty.....

  7. That jigsaw puzzle looks like a really fun one. Hmmm - halwayat is suspiciously close to halvah, or halawah as my Lebanese in-laws would have it. In any case - it looks delicious!

    1. Exactly right. I'm finding words that echo other languages. Walad is boy, like the Indian wallah. Sabr is Saturday, very much like Sabbath, and so on.

    1. It's very straightforward. I have made chocolate bark to give at Valentine's day, very well received.

    1. His visit was a great one. He really understands the power of symbols, the soldier giving his medal to Biden, the signed flag, all that, very moving. And he got the $$ and weapons he needs. Not a bad flying visit.

  12. I’ve been eating way too much bad stuff lately
Thank goodness Christmas is only once a year lol

  13. Back when the kids were growing up I used to make fudge and all the cookies and baking. Not now. My blood sugar doesn't need it and Marc's expanding belly doesn't either. Though to be honest he has lost some of it. His shirts don't strain quite as much as they have been. Merry Christmas to you.
