A day of rest, phew

Wednesday was another doctor, another bone density injection, another blood test, this time because of possible parathyroid issues.  Not urgent, I hear. Better not be I don't have the bandwidth right now.

Home to rest, and Handsome Son visited. I made a batch of okay not great sugar cookies in his honor. Not quite up to it, but HS had no trouble with them.

He certainly acted handsome -- took my car through State inspection, checked and fixed the tire pressures, recalibrated to stop the tire alert showing. Then he attached the walker tray, newly arrived, agreed to various future tasks around my recovery, and generally made me proud. What a guy. Really stepping up.

Happy day everyone, I feel lucky today.

  2. The very thought of doctors and tests give me the chills. As you know, I've been suffering with them for the past two years. What a blessing to have your Handsome Son to help you during these trying times. He certainly deserves sugar cookies *smiles*. Take care and hugs.

  10. You are indeed fortunate to have a son who is ready and willing to help out - and even better that he lives closeby. I sometimes wonder what will happen with us with both our kids being so far away.

    2. The day might come when I'll have to do that, but I'm dreading it. It would likely mean moving to BC and that's not what I want to do. I have some really good friends here and would really hate to leave them.

  13. It is a tricky balance sometimes, isn't it? Needing help from our children but not wanting to be too much of a burden. It is a beautiful thing when they do step up and help us when we need it because sometimes we really, really do.

    1. That's so true, particularly when there's one only, with no one to hand it off to.

  14. Handsome Son gets great points from me! Our guys are all far away -- or at least too far to pop in. So far, that's OK but one day we'll wish we were closer.
