Early fall scenes

The last of this year's marigolds in an Asian clay teapot

And this morning, last day of September, I finally got a walk, after the tiredness faded, and caught fall flowers and plants

At home, Billie the Pup did her best to trip me

And the peppermint I started from a cutting at the condo, a stand I started years ago from a cutting at the townhouse...

Current reading, bringing in October, is

About which I know a lot without having read it. Time I did.

Happy day everyone, don't trip your friends!

  1. When Daisy visits, we have to be particularly careful on the stairs. Enthusiasm can be dangerous! Have a great day, Boud.

    1. Billie's small but powerful! She could, and nearly did, bring me down by running her lead around my ankles!

  2. Billie must be well grown up by now - no longer a pup! The colour of those marigolds really is something to conjure with.

    1. She's a great big grown up small dog! Wild as ever.

  3. I have to be very cognisant when I go feed the adopted outdoor cats that live across the street under Pam's deck. Four of them swirling around my feet.

    1. Cats will definitely trip you if they can.

  4. I hope you're being careful with that poison ivy. I think it's poison ivy in the fifth picture.
Yep. Billy is one big muscle. Another thing to be careful around.
How lovely to keep a plant going that long. Or at least its descendants.

    1. We have masses of poison ivy, so yes, not surprised you're seeing it. I'm careful, but I'm not very sensitive to it. Billie is powerful!

  5. Cats are my tripper-uppers. They will get me one of these days. Good to know you are feeling better.

  6. SG hit me in the face with his elbow and made my teeth snap together. No injuries. (And he swears it was an accident.)

  7. I had to teach Trixie to not come into the kitchen as she is a very real tripping hazard and one I especially don’t need when carrying hot food from the oven. She’s very good and just sits at the carpet edge.

    1. Maybe she could have a word with rambunctious Billie?

  8. I've read my way through Dickens several times. Must do it again, soon.

    1. My collection has a ton of other writing in addition to the novels. We'll see how far I get.

  9. Saw SiL yesterday; she has been tripped twice by her dog recently and has some bruised bones as a consequence.

    1. That's what I can't afford to risk, however beloved the pet.

  10. You've got some green going there. We've finally gotten some rain, after a bit of drought, so I hopeful that will translate to some pretty fall colors here soon.

    1. Too early yet for fall color. Ours, mainly oak and non sugar maples, are muted.

  11. Exhuberant pups are not exactly safe, cute as they may be. Falling isn't something we want to do (RC will certainly attest to that!).

    1. Yes, I now have to walk a different way out of the house if Billie is out, safety first, much as I love her.
