Here's the cowl wrap thing, and measurable snow

I did get the wrap stitched together and here's the result

After this, of course I found another woven panel, in my knitting bag, why, why, and I may add that, too. But meanwhile here's where we are. It drapes nicely, and because it's stitched, with a neck opening, it stays pretty much put.

And outdoors we had a bit of snow, more of a gesture than a storm, but that's fine.

More to come, probably. Weather last week and this has kept me away from the new knitting group, so I hope they keep it going till I get there.

I went out yesterday to start my car, to be sure it would start, in case this turned out to be a snowplow event where my car would need to be moved to clear the lot. But it turns out it's just a brush your car off event.

Happy day, everyone, remember to your kitty you're a can opening genius. Or a can opening mechanism.

  1. It's snowing here again (again), and I can report that, so far, the highlight of not having a vehicle is not having to extract a vehicle from snow after every storm.

    1. I haven't had a vehicle since October, when the faithful Highlander was sent to permanent pasture.

  2. The cowl/scarf is lovely! You did a great job of it. The close-up of the weaving is perfection.
    Glad you're not snowed in.

    1. I never thought of Texas as having winters till recent years and the news about the grid. Stay warm, and thank you for looking out for those feral kittens and mom.

  4. The scarf/cowl turned out perfect! You have about the same amount of snow as we do. The big storm passed us by. I have given in and accept I am a servant to cats. The many dogs I had in my life are surely howling, with laughter or dismay, I don't know.

  5. That cowl is very attractive! You remind me I should give my car a start too, although it has been in the (unheated) garage. You never know in winter.

    1. Since all our parking is on the street and I don't drive every day, I need to run it a few minutes when I remember. I do have a jumper battery kit, if I need to boost it.

  6. The “cowl wrap thing” is beautiful, classy, practical, and very cool. Maybe you should come up with a name equal to it. Miserable weather here right now, too. Cloudy, windy (wind whistling through the building), rain likely soon (we’ll take as much as we can get), and the temperature is... 63F. Brrrr!

    1. I haven't come up with a name yet, since it only happened yesterday. But I need to think on that. Like you, I'm just not a fan of cold windy drafty weather, either.

  7. Lovely cowl. They are such a comfort to wear in winter, I don't know why we don'[t see news folks all seated wearing one.

I’m glad you didn’t get snowed in. Although I think, like me, it wouldn’t bother you too much. We have more than enough to keep us occupied

  11. I might have to give the cowl wrap a go. Scarves are all well and good but they dangle and get caught in things. Your weaving is beautiful. I can't wait to get my looms out.

    1. Do you have room to get out the rigid heddle loom? I'm quite pleased with how the weaving came out.

  15. Great repurpose of the panels that were originally planned to be a skirt. It makes a beautiful scarf and likely is toasty warm too.
