Thoughts too deep for blogging, ty Bill, and birdfeeders

Many thoughts today, about extroverts and introverts, current discussions online, with many participants unaware of the meanings. The Bill in the title above is Wordsworth, but you knew that.

And the successful DNS attack on the empire of the criminal enterprise formerly known as FB. Right after a major expose on national TV last evening by a whistleblower.

But it's too much for the laborious one-finger typing which is how I do my blogging on a phone with a tiny screen.

More important in the existential sense is the ladybug that rode home with me in the car and is now flying free, reminding me that I may as well put out the bird feeders.

The front one is settled into the Russian sage, so it feels safe to birds not used to a feeder right there. See the suet block hanging in there?

And the back one has an extra added basket I set up for birds who like suet but are not too adept with the no perch feeder.

They're used to feeding here. So are the squirrels. Very few squirrels around this year, though. Chipmunks put in their first excitable appearance yesterday. As long as they stay outdoors, it's fine.

Back to my book.

  1. No clue about the bill. Good to know, though, you don't have a friend named Bill that's struggling. :)

    1. Its scent drifts about the area. Just brushing against it releases a sage smell.

  4. We must keep doing what it is we do. Bless the birds and those of us who feed them. And so forth.

    1. I've never had an account with them or any of their empire, do I was just fine, but sorry they got back online probably having scrubbed a lot of incriminating evidence before today's congressional hearing.

  6. Today I saw an orange squirrel in the side yard. I probably had my phone and didn't think to take a picture. I'll keep my eye out for it.

    1. You'll certainly recognize it if you do. I wonder if it's a chromosomal issue. Also if he will be left in peace by other squirrels, being different.

  7. No squirrel problem? I've had them grab onto the suet cage and eat it as fast as they could. Argh!

    1. They do tend to get in there. But I have locking rings on the closures do they can't open the cage and make off with the suet block. And after they'd taken the whole thing, cage and all, I now hang them on the shepherd's crook which requires more than a complete turn to get the feeder off, which they can't do. So the birds have a better chance.

  8. We finally gave up on having a bird feeder on the balcony - one reason being the squirrels scaling the walls and cleaning it out about as fast as we could fill it. Anything that the birds did get would often end up scattered on the ground which attracted more squirrels who, in turn, decided that eating wiring in the cars in the parking lot made for a tasty dessert. Now we just have a wooden 'log' with holes that we fill with suet or peanut butter.
