This is when I believe I planted something, when the bees show up to work in it. Bees all over the squash blossom today.
While my breakfast oatmeal simmered on the stove, I cleaned and refilled the bird bath, put out suet in the feeder.
Now we're all ready for another hot day.
The bloom is a great start to a Monday morning.

DeleteThe bees and other flying pollinators LOVE the Candy Roasters! I've had a hard time taking a picture of a flower without some sort of insect in it :)
ReplyDeleteWe have hives on a nearby farm, well within range of bees in my yard, so they load up and go!
DeleteI just learned that my neighbor two properties away keeps bees! now I know where the bees I see live.

ReplyDeleteThere's a recipe for battering and frying squash blossoms but I don't like to sacrifice future fruit to make it.
