I took a stroll around the deck early today, before the rain, and noticed the honesty is ready to pick for everlasting flowers, and the other plants are coming along.
Look at all the hibiscus buds. Last year there were only a couple
No need to water lately. I had several of these this afternoon
I think the flooding is not here in town, yet, anyway.
And Misfits arrived anyway, flood or no flood, the driver in a hoodie so I'm not sure who, maybe Ronald.
Very small shop this week, because I have the makings of spinach quiche when it's cool enough to cook, and chicken thighs ready to roast. And I'm all up-to-date on the food pantry.
Yogurt is a staple, lazy old bread is too, till it's cool enough to bake, shredded cheese for the quiches, shredded because it's oddly cheaper by weight than the block of the same cheese, go figure.
Lemon juice for lemonade, blueberries to go with yogurt, lovely Envy apples, dried cranberries because it's been a while, potatoes now parboiled ready to roast with chicken in the toaster oven.
If you would like an update on the medical bulletin: I now have the antibiotic in hand, ready to take one hour before the dentist appointment. That's now set for 8am Monday. Handsome Son is free to take me, yay.
The reason for the antibiotic is to ward off any potential dental infection, since I have a minor heart valve issue. Just in an abundance of whatever they said during the pandemic.
And I started a(nother) bracelet using cotton warp yarn, which is working a lot better for me than previous experiments.
This one may actually become a finished item. Colors green, white and tan, none of which show up here accurately.
I got a picture of two of my donated artworks in their new home. They're really in good hands and being enjoyed.
They're the two stitched pieces, one a mixed media piece, dyed, stitched, with stumpwork insects and animals, one a goldwork design.
It's a treat to see them in their new home.
Happy day everyone, honesty rules!

I didn't know that was called honesty, I think we've always called them silver dollars. So pretty!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you are all set for your dentist appointment on Monday.
I love that plant. It has quite a few names, silver dollars, money plant, lunaria (meaning moon plant) as well as honesty. There might be more. I expect blogistas will tell us.
DeleteFor some reason my zinnias aren't doing well this year. I miss them. My tomatoes however are going great guns.
ReplyDeleteHope the flooding doesn't affect you. Do you have a basement?
I think we're safe from flooding for now. Our water table in the area is 30" below ground at best, so most housing nowadays is built on a slab, including mine. NJ is one big underground stream.
DeleteYes, that bracelet you just started does show promise. Love the arrangement with honesty...a beautiful plant in simplicity.
ReplyDeleteIt's lovely, isn't it? I may draw it, too.
DeleteI hope the dental appointment goes well. I don't see the appeal of Honesty, the plant that is.
ReplyDeleteHe's a good dentist, so I think all will be well.
DeleteHow satisfying to see your artwork in a new home. The apples and blueberries look delectable.
ReplyDeleteThe quality never fails, and you wonder why they're misfits. I'm glad to be part of saving the food from being dumped as surplus or wrong size. It certainly shows up the flaws of Big Food.
DeletePicking honesty is something politicians should try.
ReplyDeleteThey probably like the other name -- money plant.
DeleteI had that honesty plant years ago it got pretty invasive.
ReplyDeleteCathy
Around here it's treasured, because it's not easy to get going!
DeleteI think my honesty got smothered by archangel. Shame!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a spy novel plot
DeleteI love the honesty plant too and I don't think I've ever seen one growing.
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw the picture of where your artwork is, I thought, "Hold on. Boud does not use a sewing machine!"
It's the new owner's workroom where she spins and sews, so she sees them a lot. I really like the location.
DeleteThe fruit always looks so delicious in your house.
ReplyDeleteThe quality really is good, very reliable.
