So lucky to be celebrating the start of another year.
Started early with breakfast in bed.
Yes, cookies. It's my birthday!
Pretty seasonal weather, not so cold yet. Lovely series of texts from friends and son, starting at 6am!
Then Handsome Son arrived at noon, to organize garlic chicken stuffed ravioli, cookies for dessert, pot of tea.
In the middle of this, a beautiful birthday bouquet arrived from sister dogonart. So it became the centerpiece.
After lunch, HS brought down the ever shrinking collection of Christmas decorations, and we did a minimalist mantelpiece parade.
You'll see various perennial characters in place. That's Christmas decorations attended to, no need to go wild.
Lovely day, and thank you, blogistas who also joined in. Never fails to amaze when people remember the date! It's beyond me to manage more than basic dates, so I bow before their superior scheduling skills.
So we'll see what new adventures are in store.
So glad you had a great birthday, Liz! Wishing you much happiness!

ReplyDeleteBeing late to comment I'm also late in publicly wishing you a happy Birth Day. Sounds like it was just about a perfect day and all the goodies and best wishes are most deserved!
