The Great Indoors

Current reading, picked up before the libraries closed, no reviews, only just begun.

The Caroline Harveys are not very promising, though. It's Joanna Trollope, earlier nom de plume. Few pages in, much earlier in her career, may not measure up. But we'll see.

I'd been waiting for the Mo Rocca one for months, and I wonder now about the timing. .

Haven't even opened the Kiley Reid, so tba.

Last night's Guinness Festival was The Captain's Paradise, funny as ever. Great cast of stars who probably had a good time making it.

Thinking about watching Kind Hearts and Coronets this evening.

I do recommend a personal film festival for people who live alone particularly now. It's something to look forward to each day.

But first, chop wood, carry water, write postcards.

  1. I'm happily listening to audiobooks, as usual, but I also got a handcover inter-library loan book last week, on what was probably my last in-person visit to the tiny town library for a good while. Glad you posted this, because I had completely forgotten about that book, and it's still on the passenger seat in my truck - next time I'm outside I'll go fetch it in!

  2. Indeed.
We rewatched The Darjeeling Limited last night. Such a sweet, sad movie.

  3. I think rewatching is the thing. I'm not up to new things at the moment.

  5. Good suggestions

Watching movies for me means connecting the dvd player. I am a wimp dealing with wires and connections. But, I do have nice movjies to watch.

    1. Tell me why every time I see Salty Pumpkin, I read it as Sally Pumpkin? Likewise old friend MAR, of Magpie's Mumblings, was for ages Maggie's Mumblings? And I read photography as pornography. Just sayin', Quinn, nothing personal.

I have a tiny collection of DVDs, memorized. So I like other source!

  6. I’ve always enjoyed Joanna Trollope’s work. I’ve never seen the books in the name you mentioned.

    1. I just found out she was a romance writer early on, and I think the later novels in her own name show she learned a lot.

  7. Right now Resident Chef is watching a Ma and Pa Kettle movie on one of the extra tv channels we're now getting for free. Nostalgic, and still funny. Nice of our cable tv company to open up all their offerings without charge at the moment. Our library closed as well so guess we have to (horrors!) read the ones we have stashed under our bed!!
