Today's mail brought a lovely postcard artwork.
which I'll treasure. Thank you M. I studied the stitching for a long time before setting it on the mantelpiece, where I can see it.
And there was a visit of a neighbor with soup to share, very good too. We had a good chat about all kinds of things from soup to transgender children to selling cars to wills to Gary's sister. And she offered rides whenever, just ask.
Meanwhile I have housecleaners coming next Monday, so I'd booked a Lyft to the library, to get into practice for ride booking. Maybe I can get a ride home another way. Anyway I'm getting the hang of it. This will work.
Happy day everyone, it's good to be a passenger sometimes.
Normally I prefer to drive than be a passenger, but I feel quite relaxed now with my housemates driving, maybe because I taught him. I put my hands up facing forward once today when he was too close to a car in front, otherwise, very relaxing.

DeleteMy present husband drove me everywhere for years, until I bought a second vehicle when I retired, and I enjoyed being the passenger. I also enjoy being the driver though.

The card is a vintage postcard with a piece of original embroidery on fabric mounted on it. Blogista Mary Anne (her blog is Magpie's Mumblings) created it. Worldclass skills.

DeleteVery skilful stitching on that card - such a nice gift. As for passenger I've been practising for 30 years and realize now I have to step up and share the driving.
ReplyDeleteDo you need to get a NZ license? Although I think you've been driving since you arrived, various vehicles, so I guess the answer is yes, you already have all that taken care of.
