Friday morning, Handsome Son and I left at dark o'clock to go to the cardiologist office, in slashing rain. It was locked, no lights on, nobody there except another patient! Then someone opened up and we went in, lights turning on, and it was okay after all.
The cardiologist found something in my heart to be concerned about. So more tests next week. Most of the week is about tests and doctors.
I've gone from being horrified at finding I need the surgery at all to being anxious to get it over with, without any hitches!
So this is brief, I'm tired and a bit disheartened. I suspect that some of the concern relates to liability, some to age. By Wednesday I'll know if the surgery can go ahead.
Happy day everyone, hitches or not. We got this.
And this
Over 30 protests in my small state alone.
Of little comfort but you do so well for your age, and yes, you are of an age where medical matters arise. Just work through them, generally as advised, but always question. I just wish I would take my own advice.
ReplyDeleteHoping that all of your treatment goes smoothly.
ReplyDeleteHoping too that April 5 gets publicity
Sorry about another hitch in your giddy-up (Helen is the first). Hope all goes well!
ReplyDeleteI am sure that it is emotionally trying for you.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry that this hitch has come up and I am hoping it doesn't delay the surgery and ends up being less significant than you might think now. Sending very good vibes your way. We're off to our rally, which starts at noon.
ReplyDeleteI hope it all turns out for the best!
ReplyDeleteLittle hiccoughs are very trying. I hope they are soon overcome and things can proceed as planned.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry about a possible glitch in the surgery plan...hopefully it turns out to be minor and you'll still be able to go ahead. Certainly will be keeping you in my thoughts and hoping for the best.
ReplyDeleteI hope this little hitch turns out to be no hitch at all!
ReplyDeleteI'm walking in a protest today and I will wear my new "Everyone is welcome here" tshirt.
I can definitely identify and sympathize what you're going through. You are emotionally strong, which is an advantage. Sending positive thoughts and wishing you the very best.
ReplyDeleteWell, hell. You do not need this possible interruption in your plans.
ReplyDeleteI hope that millions turn out for today's protests. Give the spineless Republicans a glimpse at the anger their silence is creating.
I wonder if we had protests in London? We did the first time Trump was elected, and I went, but I didn't know about these. Sending you best wishes for continued good health!
ReplyDeleteI hope all goes smoothly and I'm so sorry for this unexpected hitch.
ReplyDeleteI hope it is a brief hiccup.
ReplyDeleteWe have a Hands Off rally here at 4pm. I will be there in spirit!!! :)
Another test will rule it out the hitch. We had a protest in Chagrin, population maybe ten thousand. Outstanding protest day.
ReplyDeleteOh no! Good luck.
ReplyDeleteI hope that the tests show you can go ahead with the surgery! Fingers crossed.
ReplyDeleteI joined 700 of my friends, neighbors and strangers standing in the rain from 1 -4 pm in an icy rain! We participated in "Hands Off" and my sign said "Hands Off Medicare". I may not be able to move by tomorrow, but I am proud of all of us.
Hopefully the hitch can be addressed and you can continue on.
ReplyDeleteI hope it all turns out ok, Boud. It must be disheartening.
ReplyDeleteNow that you were all set, mentally, this latest setback must certain=ly be frustrating. Hopefully, all will be OK after the tests are completed. However, it is good that precautions are being taken by your cardiologist.
ReplyDeleteDear Boud, I see the need for your blog break :) As you say, you've got this and I will be thinking of you in the coming weeks.
ReplyDeleteI have been off for a while and coming back didn't see posts from you so I went to your blog. This is a hitch you certainly dod not need. Get rest and know I think of you.
