In case there's anyone needing to hear this

And yesterday's movie at the library, attended by the custodian and me, was the classic Hepburn/ Tracy

Wonderful fifties clothes, way beyond the budget of the office workers who wore them, but, Hollywood!

Happy day everyone, use your power for good!

  3. Have voted! Of course, because I'm in Florida, it won't help matters. But I have done what I could do.

    1. Still, voting is the right thing, even in your situation.

  5. I voted last week. In red Texas but apparently it's a toss up. Gonna be close but I hope we get rid of our governor.

  6. We have our state elections coming up. We have to vote or we get fined. Well, we have to have our names ticked off the electoral roll.

    2. Victoria! We are big but we only have 5 states and 2 territories.

  8. Have just been reading a report on one side trying to grab control of secretary of state positions (the position that runs elections in each state), and the efforts that some states have gone to in order to reduce opportunities to participate in the voting - in USA !!! Democracy? It is worrying and we hope that you become the mouse that roared.

  10. We just had municipal elections here and the voter turnout was just plain dismal. Apathy runs rampant it seems, but then the non-voters think they then have the right to whine and complain about what happens. I will vote...every...single....time because I feel it's my duty as a citizen and I want to retain my right to complain. In our little corner of the world the powers that be decreed that this time we would only be allowed to either vote online or via the telephone...no paper ballots, no voting in person, no mail in votes. Voting took place over a 10 day period (I think it was 10 days....might have been 7). That particular voting format wasn't province wide so it was mass confusion all around. The seniors were up in arms because they wanted paper ballots and didn't understand the 'new' way - and, to be honest, many of them don't have access to computers nor can they hear properly on the phones (Resident Chef being case in point....good thing he trusts me to vote on his behalf).

    1. That's really awful. It sounds like a recipe for low turnout. Some pols must be profiting from it.
