Best midterm results in 40 years for the party in power. Now to keep Georgia.
Back later once I get my breath back, with the post I'd planned on.
News, views, art, food, books and other stuff, with the occasional assist of character dolls. This now incorporates my art blog, which you can still read up to when I blended them, at https://beautifulmetaphor.blogspot.com. Please note that all pictures and text created by me are copyright to Liz Adams, and may not be used in any form without explicit permission. Thank you for respecting my ownership.
Yay! I think I recently read that it was the best result for a first term president for 80 years. Of corse, I was just scanning TW, so I wasn’t reading closely.
ReplyDeleteI know! I immediately whatsapped my family and friends when I heard! Cou;dn't contain myself.
ReplyDeleteYes! Such a joy that we can support Georgia now knowing it will build, not just save, our ability in the Senate.
DeleteGood news indeed!
ReplyDeleteAnd we are always aware that our elections affect a lot of neighboring, and distant, countries.
DeleteI can't believe it. I am thrilled!
ReplyDeleteI'd been focused on Georgia only realized late about Nevada. It was like a gift.
DeleteAnd still possible, though unlikely, to keep the House! Yes, the nation showed the republicans how tired they are of their bullshit.
ReplyDeleteThere may be a tiny gop majority in the house, far from what they'd hoped.
DeleteYES!
ReplyDeleteExhaling now.
DeleteGood to see happy folks
ReplyDeleteThis Republican, realizes that my dread of a particular a politician gaining momentum, factors into why I not only voted for Democrats, I am relieved they won.
Thank you! Country over party for the win.
DeleteWoo hoo!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI can just hear that!
DeleteIt was worth all the work, talking quietly to women and being able to tell them their husbands didn't need to know how they voted, or better yet, practice lying. In the beginning I would say to try to convince others, but when time was of the essence...
ReplyDeleteToo true. We've been working since 2016 to get here. Lost track of the number of mail in vote applications I've printed and mailed, with personal notes on post-its, the postcards I've written and sent, all at my own expense until I couldn't afford any more, all worth it. It was all so up hill with TFG packing the courts, appointing criminals to high office, swindling the nation right and left. But people like you and me, Joanne, we stuck with it.
DeleteYay!!
Good morning Boud, I do not post or comment on a number of things, politics especially, but I wanted to answer your question on my blog post today. I'm not positive, but believe the name Clocktower Apartment (formerly the nashua Manufacturing Company) was a result of having a couple of clock towers on the buildings. Both are still working and are reset as needed.
ReplyDeleteThankyou. I think it would be good also to let your own readers see this information.
DeleteThe world needs more of the people who are working behind the scenes to right the wrongs of the world (in reference to the post-it notes you've sent). Methinks in the next few years there's going to be a whole lot more needed.
ReplyDeleteIt never ends!
