Today was all rain, all the time. Handsome Son visited this afternoon, repeatedly sampled the ANZAC biscuits, and pronounced them good.
We decided not to take down the winter, red felt, front door curtain yet, still cold. The summer, green and white striped canvas, one can wait a couple more weeks.
And here's the updated, improved, weaving area
So I installed a light I made years ago from a coffee can and a light fitting. Can and shade decorated with handmade paper.
Tomorrow I do an incoming Freecycle, trays I've needed for years. And Handsome Son brought me a box of his winnowings to Freecycle for him.
So maybe that balances my bringing in a couple of trays?
About the Haggard Hawks puzzle, instead of my just giving my answer, especially since I think there are more than one answer to one of the clues, why not post your answers so we can compare notes? Go!
Happy whatever's left of the day, everyone, I'm wondering if I can find an ark on Freecycle, solid rain for over 24 hours, and days more to come.
trip
ReplyDeleteship
chip
grip
drip
And your clue was " flip". ????
I don't know where I said that, but thanks for the answer!
DeleteYou said on the day you posted the puzzle that the answer would "unfold suddenly". That caught my attention. Sure enough, the definition of "flip" agrees.
DeleteThat is a wonderful, novel lamp! And the weaving is looking fantastic. I wonder what kind of trays? We have had lots more rain than usual, too. I just wish we could save some for the TX heat in August, Sept.!
ReplyDeleteThese are the kind you take outdoors. I'm ready for tea on the patio. I'll probably free cycle the extras, only need one.
DeleteWe know what you mean by 'still cold' - similar here. Hughie flung the weather switch yesterday and we went from deep winter to full on summer in a day (which must have blown some fuses as today is back to woolly sock cold. ) The weaving is coming on quickly.
ReplyDeleteHughie? I have a hard time with those abrupt changes, what to wear.
DeleteThe weaving set up looks handy and comfortable.
ReplyDeleteStill some chilly in the days here of wanning April.
Stay dry!
I think it will be easier to weave now I can see better!
DeleteMy brainteaser answers were: trip, ship, chip, grip and drip. "Chip" stymied me the longest.
ReplyDeleteTy!
Deletehere's mine...trip, ship, chip, grip, drip. all four letter words and all end with 'ip'. I don't think I've ever looked at freecycle. Maybe I'll check it out.
ReplyDeleteFree cycle varies a lot with neighborhoods, but it's worth checking. Most of my electronic and small appliances came that way.
DeleteI have to say it does worry me a bit if your blog doesn't come up before the day's end.
ReplyDeleteThat scarf is just going to be such a fine piece of weaving and a pleasure to whoever wears it.
Yes, when I realized I'd forgotten, thought I'd blogged earlier, I figured I'd better put something up. I think the person wearing this one will be me, since it's handwash dry flat. Not suitable for giving to people who can't do that.
DeleteCool and rainy here too. At least I can console myself by admiring the wonderful greens on the trees by the river. Mind you, all that admiring must happen indoors because...allergies.
ReplyDeleteThere's a lot of tree pollen this year. The advantage of our endless downpour is that it's washing it away. Especially off my car which was bright green before the rain.
DeleteYes, I think outgoing Freecycle balances the incoming. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's been chilly here too, for weeks and weeks. I could have used a door curtain!
I think we'll leap from chilly late winter to blistering hot summer.
DeleteThat's what happened here. 88 degrees today, compared to snow a week ago. Sheesh!
DeleteIt was chip that got me!
ReplyDeleteSee my additional possibilities for that one.
DeleteI also wonder when you don't blog, although since you changed your time I don't always catch it. This looks like a good spot to weave.
ReplyDeleteIt's the change that made me forget. I thought I'd blogged earlier, doh!
DeleteI’ve also been forgetting about blogging — purposefully in my case. I need a break every now and then.
ReplyDeleteI think the difference is that when you don't blog we know there are people available in your daily life, if anything's wrong. I live alone and that creates more alertness in readers.
DeleteI've watched for the Ark a time or two myself though lately we've been suffering with drought. Any left over rain - push it south!
ReplyDeleteWe had nearly three inches in the last 24 hours. You're welcome if we could move it!
