This is a new find for me
And my ten day post operative check-up went fine. The joint is fine, and so am I, just need to work on strength. I can drive! I can throw away the compression stockings! Free!
I walked quite far in the building to the examining room, a test in itself. X-rays done and instantly available. It's all good and I feel as if I should ring a bell or run up a flag or something, yay me!
Seriously, yay blogistas, too. Your encouragement was huge in keeping my spirits up through a scary time and i thank you all.
Happy day everyone, I'm having one.
Yay you! So glad you're free of those stockings. That's got to feel great.
ReplyDeleteThose "rubbish pet portraits" are really what I would call caricatures, but I imagine "rubbish pet portraits" carries more marketing potential!
The stockings were keeping hs here twice a day at least, so he'll be glad to get his life back.
DeleteGood news on every level. (And those pet portraits are a hoot!)
ReplyDeleteAren't they great? He seizes on the operative detail each time.
DeleteGlad you had a good dr visit!!! You are doing such a great job healing from all this. It really is a trauma to your body and you are just climbing mountains!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt was a great advantage to have six weeks of pt ahead of time, to get in shape.
DeleteI have to think that all the prep work you did for the surgery has really paid off. So glad the appointment went well. And thank goodness you have been released from the h#ll called compression stockings. They do their job, but it always feels like you need to take a shower after you've (or in your case, HS) wrestled them on.
ReplyDeleteYou've obviously been there with the stockings from hell. Yes.
DeleteNo hyperbole. You are amazing!! I like the rubbish pet portraits. 😄
ReplyDeleteI think he could do a great job of one of your dogs! And thank you for the nice words.
DeleteAbsolutely wonderful news! Bells should be rung everywhere.
ReplyDeleteYeah!!
DeleteOh lord, the compression stockings!!! My husband V had 2 knee replacements at the same time, and I swear those stockings should have had a separate vow requirement because they were certainly a labour of love!!
ReplyDeleteTell me about it! They tested the mother- son bond around here!
DeleteSuch good news! Hurray!
ReplyDeleteYes! So happy.
DeleteI love the idea of rubbish portraits. What a clever way to earn money for charities.
ReplyDeleteYou have done so well. Ten days and your driving.
Good job
It's a matter of regaining energy now. It's good!
Delete10 days and you have come so far. Well done you. Not that I am at all surprised - you planned, you did what you were told and you have detirmination.
ReplyDeleteIt's been faster than I expected. But I did work on fitness ahead of time. I had the luxury of not having an emergency situation, too. Thank you for your generous words, considering I've been luckier than you with this surgery.
DeleteAbsolutely brilliant! Virtual hugs and congratulations to you!
ReplyDeleteThank you, I'm so happy!
DeleteGlad your checkup went so well -- you're a hipster superstar!
ReplyDeleteHippolyta graciously thanks you.
DeleteHow wonderful! I'm happy for you!
ReplyDeleteBonnie, how good to see you here! So glad you're reading along, and I'd like news of you, too.
DeleteYippee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteChris from Boise
Says it all!
DeleteThis is excellent news! congratulations on making it through.
ReplyDeleteThank you, also for your steady encouragement, even when you had your own health issues to tend.
DeleteYou are a marvel. Great prep. Great physical therapist. Great medical team. Great Handsome Son. And great attitude. The Rubbish Pet Portraits are hilarious.
ReplyDeleteYou're too kind. And I wonder if portraits of Dudo and sidekick might happen??
DeleteCongratulations! Being able to drive again is such a boost to confidence and independence.
ReplyDeleteIt's certainly important where I live. I don't like driving but I do need to.
DeleteSo happy to see this good news about your recovery. You are a wonder!. x0x0 N2
ReplyDeleteThank you. I don't think I've seen you here before. I'll check out your blog, too.
DeleteApparently, you’ve sailed through just about perfectly.
ReplyDeleteMore hobbling than sailing but it's working out fine!
DeleteThere is this fellow on Facebook who makes 'Hyperreal Portraits'. Every bit as realistic as the pictures above. He's a hoot, mostly for his long discussions on his realistic art.
ReplyDeleteWon't be long and you'll be tap dancing!!!
I'd love to tapdance! I tried it with a group of friends years ago and I was hopeless. Couldn't get my feet working. Now I can blame Helen Hip. Maybe Hippolyta will do better.
DeleteGlad to read about the great post-op checkup, Boud, and sure you are happy to have more independence once again and to be able to drive as well!
ReplyDeleteIt's all good.
DeleteYay you indeed! Very glad you got a good report and have some freedom.
ReplyDeleteThose portraits are definitely fun and how nice that proceeds go to pet charities.
I love the pet portraits. Evidently the owners do, too.
DeleteThe pet portraits are so funny! Brilliant idea for pet charities!
ReplyDeleteSo happy to hear how well you are doing and so fast! Freedom!! :)
So happy with my new normal. And the pet portraits are hilarious, yes.
DeleteTime is flying by! Glad all is well!
ReplyDeleteYay you, indeed! So glad you are able to drive, and feel new freedom.
ReplyDeleteThat Rubbish Pet Portraits looks terrific.
👍
