On Freecycle this is on offer
I'm refraining from checking into it. Trying to move the dolls, not bring in flamingoes.Quiet day with heavy rain, so I read, very good narrative in The Night in Question, and continued my crocheted and knitted gloves.
And made a miniature lasagna, two helpings, which fitted into the little toaster oven. And it finished up the box of noodles which definitely needed to be done with.
This morning I called Gary and we continued the endless story of the exterior doors. The weather won't work for painting and hanging exterior doors now, so we talked about buying them in before prices rise (again) and storing them in my loft. He liked this idea and it may happen. At least that's the plan.
There may have been some sleeping, cosy indoors.
Happy day everyone, a quiet day is a Good Thing.
A common, almost permanent, phrase here when we receive some dampness is, 'Oh well, we need the rain'. I guess not so in New Jersey.
ReplyDeleteIt's more common here to be wet, drought is pretty rare. At first we said we needed it, but now it's "not like that!"
DeleteMini lasagnas sound like a good plan. Have a good day.
ReplyDeleteIt's about time I thought of it.
DeleteI was at first thrown by your addition of “There may have been some sleeping, cosy indoors” right after the Gary paragraph. I connected the two. We were given that flamingo as a Christmas ornament one year, right after San Geraldo dressed as a retired prima ballerina for Halloween!
ReplyDeleteThat's not a connection anyone's looking for!! I'd certainly like to see SG dressed as a PB!
DeleteCheck her out! https://movingwithmitchell.com/2011/10/20/olga-chickaboomskya-prima-ballerina/
DeleteThat's hilarious! The efforts to make him over!! But the pose worked. If the shoes didn't! And your misery was a laffriot in itself!
Delete"There may have been some sleeping" hahahaha! Great description of a nap!
ReplyDeleteIt's the kind where you realize you must have been sleeping, after you wake up!
Deleteaaaaah - a quiet day. Alas there doesn't seem to be many of those.
ReplyDeleteSurprising how things seem to present themselves in what at first seems like an empty calendar.
DeleteI was thinking I needed to go to town again today but I do believe I am going to put it off until tomorrow. I need a day at home. Mr. Moon is on the river and I can enjoy my solitude.
ReplyDeleteThat flamingo is pretty darn cute. Some little child is going to love it.
Yes, you're out and about a lot. Stay home and admire your toes!
DeleteYou need the flamingo! You had a nice day. The sheet pan lasagna is like a miracle. 😉
ReplyDeleteIt was definitely a late breaking (!) realization to me that I could break the noodles to fit a small dish! Who knew?
DeleteThe flamingo is very appealing, but something of a dust collector.
ReplyDeleteNot in the hands of a child! It's a toy.
DeleteOhhhh I don’t think I could resist the flamingo.
ReplyDeleteYes quiet days are the best
I can see Ana with it, watching Paw Patrol then showing it how to peck strawberries.
DeleteThanks for the reminder about lasagna. I have everything needed but forgot to make it.
ReplyDeleteIt's really good. And one big dish is quite a few helpings. Go for it!
DeleteSounds like you're hunkering down for the winter. Naps and flamingos. Perfect. Even if the flamingo doesn't come home.
ReplyDeleteI think it's been taken. I hope so, danger averted!
DeleteSounds like a lovely day.
ReplyDeleteThat flamingo is very cute. Were we not in the winnowing stage ourselves, I'd lust for it. The lasagna - brilliant! It's about time we made a full-sized batch again. Your day sounds just about right, especially after Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteI've just put "A Night In Question" on hold at our library. Thanks!
Send rain!
Chris from Boise
The flamingo is sooooo appealing! Lasagna needs a lot of ingredients, and I postpone making it. But this small version, with substitutions, is so good I'll probably go for it again before too long.
DeleteI really enjoyed Night in Question. It's unlikely, but a nice winter read.
You can't not adopt a flamingo!
ReplyDeleteNot while you're trying to push dolls out the door!
DeleteThat is one cute flamingo. As we're preparing for Christmas and buying gifts, I'm also thinking of going on a spending moratorium in the new year. I always go through this mental exercise every Christmas season. Even as simple as my decorating and cooking has become, it's all been feeling like too much in recent years.
ReplyDeleteIt's okay to cut back! Starting with gifts to adults. That's one place a lot of people start. Then simplifying decorations. Bit by but! I don't like the tradition where the wife of the family is exhausted from Christmas.
