Early morning on the deck
And home to check Freecycle. The tray went fast and here's the happy ending
Everybody's happy now.
And the orchid is going on and on
Today's bouquet is humble next to the high end fancy orchid
This morning's early walk was shortened because of stratospheric humidity, but back home I followed it with a free weight video from April and mom Aiko. This one
But first, here's how I stop myself from getting into the shower with hearing aids in.
Turns out we all three neighbors called the auto body shop this week. That guy must be feeling a bit under siege. But we all got the waiting-for-parts answer.
And both neighbors wanted to know about the contractor for the house. Gary wants to be there. The other neighbor is off on Tuesday for a month in India. Never a dull moment. Rapid plans about his plant care are now set up.
I have rides for my final surgeon appointment Monday and knitting group Tuesday. Then contractor comes Wednesday. Misfits Thursday. It's all go. These are the golden years, rocking on the porch?
But I did get a bit of drawing in
Happy day everyone. Don't just do something, sit there! Never mind self improvement, we're all just fine already sez

Brilliant hearing aid protection hack! Your week exhausts me just thinking about it. I hope your temps and humidity moderate enough for some patio time to balance out.
ReplyDeleteChris from Boise
Yes, deck time fixes a lot of stress.
DeleteI don't remember what those deep purple flowers are but I do love the colour.
ReplyDeleteMorning glory. They're lovely this year.
DeleteSpectacular morning glory there (assuming that is the purple trumpet flowers). Good the have neighbours checking but you don't need to be leaping out of the shower just to prove you haven't fallen down somewhere.
ReplyDeleteIt's surprising how often people call or visit while I'm in the shower. They just have to wait a few. Yes they're morning glory.
DeleteThe flowers! And what a wonderful message about the tray.
ReplyDeleteIt's lovely when people are enthusiastic about their Freecycle items. I've given to this lady before and she likes to account for her items. It definitely encourages a person to keep giving.
DeleteA full schedule this week on top of your regular routine. Go, Boud! Stay cool!
ReplyDeleteLet's hope the weather cooperates.
DeleteYou’ve figured out a hearing aid solution. I am not sure what memory hook I cold use in our setup.
ReplyDeleteOur humidity is very high today. The bannister on the stairway was damp at 5am.
After getting into the shower twice wearing them and getting away with it, I thought my luck might be running out.
DeleteVery clever hearing aids reminder!
ReplyDeleteNow I have to remember to set the reminder.
DeletePosh or not, all flowers are beautiful. Nice neighbours you have, to notice when you are or are not about.
ReplyDeleteOf course all flowers are beautiful! As are my concerned neighbors.
ReplyDeleteI find myself needing more and more little reminders about things. I have a pill that I'm supposed to take before bed. Sometimes I can't remember if I took it or not but if I turn the bottle upside down after I take it, I know! But then of course, I have to remember to turn it right side up again.
ReplyDeleteHoo-boy. We have to be smart to make up for the times we aren't, I guess.
Your deck sure is looking pretty.
I have all kinds of visible reminders. Whether the mug is full of water, tells me I haven't taken one pill, where it's positioned tells me the next pills, after that, position tells me the evening pill. This works better without cats knocking pill bottles down.
DeleteI always touch my ears before I get into the shower just to be sure my hearing aids aren't in... I will have to remember to check out more of April and Aiko's videos!
ReplyDeleteI've been unsuccessful in remembering to touch my ears till too late, so this is next level. I can find an A and A video to suit just about any way I want to work out.
DeleteThat's a good idea re. the hearing aids!
ReplyDeleteNow I have to remember to do it.
DeleteExcellent idea for the hearing aid. I do chair yoga with the mother and daughter. I like them and the orange tabby that sometimes comes into the room! Your patio is a restful spot.
ReplyDeleteTheir cat is a cameo star! I think his name is ,Mochi. April once commented he weighs 17 pounds, weight training just picking him up.
DeleteI like the purple-ish morning glories. The sky blue ones are more common. Loved hearing about your caring neighbors, as well as beautiful plants. May we all survive the heat.
ReplyDeleteYes, the heat. When you sigh with relief at high eighties, you know it's hot.
DeleteThe Heavenly Blue morning glories are the ones I've failed to get any flowers from for several years. When they flower, they're bigger than these purple. But I love the saturated purple. Also the fact they're flowering.
These purple ones are "Grandpa Ott". We found Heavenly Blue (my absolute favorites) took too long to mature in our climate, and rarely got flowers, much less seeds.
DeleteYou always cheer me up and for that I thank you. I'm so glad you have such good neighbors, worried about you and checking up on you.
ReplyDeleteI need visual reminders like what you do with the hearing aids, otherwise I'll forget. It's so frustrating, but so far the visual reminders are working.
The thing is that the better they fit, the more comfortable hearing aids are and the more likely to be forgotten about till you're already in the shower aaghghh.
DeleteDeep purple is a favorite color...Good your neighbors are so caring. No rocking on the porch for you, you rock differently and better than in a swing.
ReplyDeleteThe purple is more saturated in real life. The camera tends to push the red a bit. They're lovely in early morning light.
DeleteI am doing more and more little reminders like that as the years have gone by. I also use a full glass of water to remind me if I have taken my pills--even if I have them set up in the pill minder! Still needed something more visual to remind me to check the pill case--lol! Over two decades of fibro fog was bad enough...now I have added cancer treatment brain and just plain getting old to the mix--ROFL!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you have neighbors looking out for you! They really do have your back. Enjoy your busy week. :)
"Don't just do something, sit there!"
ReplyDeleteNow THAT'S a refreshing piece of advice!
I bet it's taken more than most, too
DeleteThose flowers look amazing. I keep resisting the hearing aids in fear that I will lose them or the batteries. I'm hoping my surgery will help delay such decisions.
ReplyDeleteMine are Phonak rechargeable. No batteries. I couldn't manage little batteries. Since I wear them all the time and put them on the charger overnight, there's not much chance to lose them.
ReplyDeletePerhaps you're going to have to get a sign and put it on your door to tell the concerned neighbours that you're in the shower.
ReplyDeleteKnowing them they'd worry that I'd fallen, and I'd have company!
