This cool wood object was found at a garage sale and given to me. But what is it? anyone know? two views here, complete with ruler to show you the relative size of the sides and so on.

It looks like it might be a decorative version of a cranberry scoop?

ReplyDeleteYes, it is for harvesting/picking cranberries from the bog. One runs the scoop through the water and the berries floating on top are scooped into the box part, while the water runs out through the "slats." Carol G.
ReplyDeleteactually looking at the measurements you posted it might be a miniature version of a cranberry scoop too. Usually the handle is longer, arching over the body of the scoop for better leverage. Pretty little thing, though
