Wednesday was a joyful day, great election results. Even the sky agreed, and the cheerful ducks on the pond
I finally wore the neck gaiter I designed and made ages ago, in Tunisian crochet with Dorset buttons all different.
Handsome Son visited, enjoyed three kinds of cake with tea, and we strategized about the new cost of his health insurance, since the subsidies have not been renewed. On the plus side he can go to a lower level plan, still expensive, because he's fit, no chronic ailments, only one medication.
But it's still tough. He needed that subsidy.
And I did some visible mending on a favorite pair of socks I didn't make.
I used embroidery floss because the socks are a fine knit. They're more of a putty color than here, with bright orange darning. My repairs are always under the foot so they never show in use.
The general mood Wednesday among the people I hang out with was buoyant, to put it mildly. I planned to do no resistance, but I did message Schumer to stay strong, no surrender.

Yes, a lovely day after, in your beautiful sky and our drizzly one. Boise voters came through yet again (no statewide battles this year). Plus from the school district one town over: "Voters in West Ada’s Zone 3 picked a new face with an inclusive voice, after the district received national attention this year for ordering a teacher to remove a poster featuring multiracial hands and the words, “Everyone Is Welcome Here.” Teacher Meghan Brown took a decisive victory over incumbent Angie Redford, earning more than 60% of the vote Tuesday."

DeleteThat's a wonderful neck cover. I don't do under the foot repairs in socks, I'm a bit "princess and the pea" type and feeling it while walking would irritate me far too much.

DeleteYes, much celebrating from the elections. Work ahead to be done as the GOP is now going to try everything it can. Where is our weakest link? Well, we who love our democracy will be awake to whatever they come up with.

DeleteI caught up with your last post about brown cotton weaving, beautiful weaving. I'm so glad that the democrats won everything. It seems that many people now have TRS (trump regret syndrome), as they should. There is hope again.

It was so decisive. Now that people are experiencing the results of their choices they're changing their minds. Latino support has fallen off a cliff.
DeleteThe trees have been so beautiful here that I'm always amazed at the colors I get to see. We may have a bit of snow on Sunday/Monday but my phone says less than 2 inches so that's not bad...

That's a good idea, leaving them out. If this hadn't been rolled neatly and shelved, I'd have been wearing it more.

ReplyDeleteNovember skies, I think it's the wind that makes them so interesting. I'm not a huge fan of our governor elect, but she's miles better than the alternative, who used to be just an old style Republican, then went full maga.

It's very adjustable because of the buttons. I'm quite pleased with the design.

I notice in the Netherlands the far right leader lost his Parliamentary party power. I think the blue wave is growing back.
