Misfits day and entertainment set up

I'm getting very independent with my Misfits now, bringing it in without help. Bit by bit, that is. I don't wrestle the whole box off the ground.

Here's Ronald arriving on time and doing a nice job

Apricots to replace apples this week, berries to go with yogurt,

two oversized lemons, free with points, new supply of yellow potatoes.

The last tiny couple of the previous batch of potatoes are sprouting and I'm planning to plant them in a container, to stretch the harvest.  Potting soil arrived this morning. Timing.

Little shells for tuna casserole, anchovies for flavor somewhere, maybe in the curried black beans happening tomorrow.  Spinach is a staple, I chuck it into a lot of dishes.

And I sneaked in dark (virtuous) chocolate covered raisins, nutritious. My story and I'm a stickin to ut!

In other food/gardening news, the celery is moving along

Today the DVD entertainment is a revisit of Gently. I remember liking this long ago, mainly for the actor playing Gently, but otherwise it will be like new.

Happy day everyone, it's hot here, high 80s, so it's about walking early, which I did, and slowing down in the afternoon,  which I might.

    1. I love their color and how they keep it, in jam or sauce. These need a day or two to ripen.

  2. Perfect timing. Everything coming in at the same time.
Your garden will produce lots of yummy food for you
I’ve yet to go out and plant the winter crops as it’s been so windy and warm.
I don’t want them to bolt. Like they did last year

    1. Here my planting was delayed, too, because we had a wet cold spring. I'm hoping they'll catch up.

  4. I had some chocolate-covered almonds yesterday. A woman in my art class was selling small boxes of them as a fundraiser for her grandkid's soccer team.

    1. So you were obliged to buy some.

    2. It was the right thing to do. Just think how virtuous it would be to buy your healthy dark chocolate covered raisins to support a charitable enterprise, one devoted to kids no less. I'm pretty sure that when you begin to rack up virtues at that rate, pretty soon eating that chocolate will result in weight loss.

  5. When I scrolled through the snaps before reading, I thought your celery picture was actually a fancy lettuce growing in a lovely china bowl! I want that bowl!!

  6. Oh, look at that darling little celery plant!
Okay. Could there be a more English blurb than, "Great. Bordering on brilliant!" ?
    I love it.
And yes, of course dark chocolate covered raisins are a health food. Without a doubt.

    1. I think it takes time and effort I'd rather use another way. No deliveries where you live?

  11. Ooh, apricots! SG’s favorite treats are dark-chocolate covered raisins! (And sometimes in a mouthful with popcorn.)

  12. Another healthy order of food. I haven't had an apricot in like forever!

  13. My goodness - that celery is growing by leaps and bounds. I don't think I've ever eaten 'fresh' apricots and only ever remember having them dried.

    1. Fresh apricots are like a different food from dried. The texture is lovely.
