First afternoon sitting outside for tea
Massive bumblebees everywhere, daffodils late this year.
Reading Margaret Forster, Lady's Maid, fiction of the life of Wilson, Elizabeth Barrett Browning's maid.
I envy you your deck and your 'massive' bumblebees, but I'd be cautious around them. If they have shiny butts instead of fuzzy ones, they are carpenter bees--relatively harmless, but quite territorial, and they'll move you back if you get too close to them. Just don't want you to get stung, because they aren't as docile as bumblebees...
we had ice/rain/snow all day, the porch here was coated with ice, even the cats wouldn't touch it. They spent all day goingoutcomingin and glaring at me for putting all that cold out there.
Good advice on the bees. I didn't examine their butts, but these are the kind that thump your face if you're in their way. Don't seem to sting, more like grumpy old parties telling me to get off their lawn.
