Remember the tiny greenhouse I put out hopefully weeks ago, before several cold snaps, ice and snow?
Checked just now and there were a lot of tiny seedlings starting, most too small for my modest camera. This is the biggest.
The excitement of it all!

Yea seedlings! Yesterday I planted some lettuce, onions, and marigolds. Now just have to wait a month and hope my cat doesn't totally destroy them - we already have had a few chats on the subject.
ReplyDeleteThe danger here is from squirrels and rabbits. But the locking greenhouse has foiled them. Up to now.
ReplyDeleteHow nice! I keep wanting to put out a lettuce bed, but the ground is sooooo soggy.
ReplyDeleteYes, when there are a few mild days you long to plant, way too early! I'm surprised that these little seedlings are starting since we still have cold temps. But inside the greenhouse it smells wonderful, when you open it.
ReplyDeletethought I better explain - seedlings are in a small planter with a piece of glass on top sitting near a south facing window and mostly lettuce, the onions being by way of experiment.
ReplyDeleteAh, that explains how you were planting so early. And how the cat might be involved. Did you have to tape the glass to the planter? And the planter to the sill?
DeleteThought of you this morning. I finally got that second cabinet door set up with casters and it's under a big plant. The idea was yours and it's great.
I might end up with everything except the people on casters. So useful instead of lugging stuff about.
