It was crunchy tofu time, and I made a different sauce. Yogurt, garlic, salt, dill
It would have been good to remember the art opening before I ate a lot of anti social raw garlic, but oh well. It went very well with the tofu cubes.
And in the course of crushing the garlic my folk craft cat cutting board came apart.
So it's still an artwork. Now it's Cat Crouching Behind Pillows. I always like a cat in the window, but usually it's a live one.
The opening was crowded, very happy event with speeches of thanks to everyone, and reminiscences.

I've been recruited to help think up more ways to show art in different parts of the building. Serves me right for showing up!
And back home Gary was out measuring for the patio! He's buying the blocks tomorrow. I had thought he might not be well enough to do it, and hadn't mentioned anything about it but he seems fine with it. The next door neighbors are going to match it, so we'll have a unified effect. I am really liking this.
Later he brought over his sad shefflera for a consultation then two hours of repotting, choosing pots, drilling holes to upcycle them, while I made suggestions and a lot of encouraging sounds. Later still he showed up with this nest which fell out of his tree. What bird, do you think?

ReplyDeleteWe very much enjoy visiting art exhibitions and are fortunate that, in Budapest, there is something showing on virtually every day and night of the week. Your opening looks to have been a very jolly affair. We hope that there were plenty of red dots for the artists.

DeleteGood for you! I am hardly educated yet and have been told I need hysterectomy, a surgery replete in risks and possible complications not mentioned in the video. I have been on the phone again today trying to get seen...nothing yet!
ReplyDeleteI had a hysterectomy long ago before modern laparoscopy, and it's tiring, but has a significant success rate. I hope you can get a provider lined up soon.

DeleteSo funny that the police are ready to adopt the dog. :) Glad the opening went well. Those "sad" plants don't look too sad -- but will no doubt be even happier now.
ReplyDeleteThe plants are seen after I did a bit of restorative surgery! Our police are all dog mad. One time they were at my door with a big Bernese puppy asking if I knew him, found running on the main road. Three cruisers showed, all wanting to take over. They were so sad when I identified him -- visiting next door, jumped the fence -- and reluctantly went to hand him over. They were dying for him tho be an adoptable stray.
DeleteRaw garlic with tofu cubes? That's a new combination to me. Garlic is very healthy, and if you eat too much of it this time of year - it will keep vampires away. I like the cat cutting board - - even in two pieces. Jon

More plants to babysit. They look pretty good to me, but I'm sure you will help them flourish all the more. :)
We'll see about the patio. It's the next door neighbor doing likewise. So we can sit practically side by side and chat. Gary doesn't look well today so I'm not holding my breath. He's dealing with a lot.

ReplyDeleteThat sauce sounds like the Greek Taziki. Garlic breath isn’t bad. It’s very useful for keeping people far enough away that they don’t give you any bugs they might have.
Kinda like social distancing without the government’s interference.
I think it's similar, yes. It was very good with the crunchy tofu. I don't have trigger finger -- it's got a posh name with initials in it! But it doesn't hurt at all, just a nuisance. My knitting needles tend to spin away when it suddenly moves!
