By Wednesday evening the COVID booster was hitting and I had to lie down before I fell down, so tired. This blogpost is being written in bed.
Where I was Wednesday morning.
Home again I did a bit of plant moving, set up an appointment with the hand surgeon, took a walk, took more pictures of the mystery plant.
One shows buds, one blossoms
Read, fell asleep, woke to make meals, spent time online with friends, mourned Jane Goodall, and could not go on. Energy fled. I did wave my arm about as prescribed after COVID shot.
Happy day everyone, rest when there's no choice.
All this, sez Ted and Big Ursy.
I'm mourning Jane Goodall, too. What a lovely, brilliant woman. Later today I'm going in for my vaccines: flu, COVID, and pneumonia. I'm surprised I can have all 3 at once. I hope you recover quickly. I've never had a reaction to the COVID vaccine other than my arm getting a bit sore.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
You're able to do more than one at a time? One time I let a nurse persuaded me to do pneumonia and flu, one in each arm, and I could raise either arm for two days! I was out of action.
DeleteCouldn't.
DeleteI hadn't heard about waving your arm about after a covid vaccination. I'll do that when I get mine next week or week after. I always clear the next couple of days after flu and covid vaccinations as I know I'll be zombified by them. Hope your energy returns soon.
ReplyDeleteYes, I react to where I need to plan rest after vaccines. I hope yours go smoothly.
DeleteI remembered to wave my arm too, but gosh it did hurt!
ReplyDeleteYes, they don't tell you that bit.
DeleteThe leaves of the plant are heart shaped. If I was naming a plant, I might include heart in the name.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds nice. Go ahead, I don't see why you can't name it. Other people have done.
DeleteHope the effects pass quickly, but so glad you’ve been boosted. The vaccine room looks a bit sci fi. Isn’t that where Jeff Goldblum went before he came out a fly?
ReplyDeleteIt's a bit weird, you do expect to emerge from a different door looking strange.
DeleteIt was sad to read about Jane Goodall. She should have had a much higher profile than she has had.
ReplyDeleteIn my world she had a very high profile. Seen everywhere, addressing everyone.
DeleteYou have quite a reaction. I have never noticed anything. I hope that continues.
ReplyDeleteMy son says the same thing. I tell him he's not as fine tuned as I. Eye roll.
DeleteLol. I love that...
DeleteIt it my dreaded enemy, convolvulus?
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping someone will come in with answers.
DeleteSensitivity sometimes isn't such a good thing. But getting some immunity sure is. I'll do my first jab soon. Have put it off while recuperating. No idea of what your little volunteer plant might be.
ReplyDeleteI rationalize that it's my great immune system fighting back. No idea really.
DeleteOh, I hadn't heard about Jane Goodall!! She's (or was) such an icon to be admired. OMGoodness! The world has lost one amazing soul.
ReplyDeleteShe was working to the last day of her life. Such a powerhouse of a woman.
DeleteYou're probably going to need at least a day, maybe two, to recover. You know this though.
ReplyDeleteMy plant ID says it's a white morning glory, considered a weed by many gardeners.
Yes, I figured a morning glory relative. Thank you for checking. The resting isn't really an option. I already fell asleep after breakfast.
DeleteI got the flu shot Monday and need Covid still. Probably next week, if I can hobble to the pharmacy or store for it. I always have that kind of reaction too.
ReplyDeleteI guess it proves we're getting the real thing. Or something.
DeletePrayers your energy is on the rise
ReplyDeleteYou are brave to get a covid shot.
It will be a day or two, and I have no commitment so I can rest.
DeleteWe still need to get our vaccinations. I also hadn't heard about Jane Goodall. I feel sad.
ReplyDeleteShe lived such a purposeful life.
DeleteSleep is a good treatment and gives your body time to recover. Glad you got the booster.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad too. An older person needs more recovery time, I think.
DeleteHope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteJane Goodall was an inspiration and I hope her good work continues.
Thank you, I usually need a day or two. She was a powerhouse, many students followed her into her field. She blazed a way for women, aside from making great discoveries.
DeleteThere's no place like home 🧡
ReplyDeleteSo true.
DeleteRIP Jane Goodall, another voice of reason gone. I'm going for my covid & flu shot in a couple of weeks. Just booked my appointment.
ReplyDeleteGood, I'm glad you're up for them.
DeleteYes, I was also sorry to hear about Jane Goodall. I think the mystery vine is some kind of Convulvulus, or bindweed...?
ReplyDeleteSee Mary's diagnosis above.
DeleteI’m glad your looking after yourself. That’s a lesson most women find hard to learn
ReplyDeleteI found our about Jane Goodall while sitting at in the waiting room for the doctors
I was deeply saddened. She has done so much to encourage the world to be mindful of the other creatures that share our planet
She was a wonderful leader in many ways.
DeleteNow that I live alone, it's not so hard to take care of myself -- I'm not putting anyone else ahead now.
I hope you process it and are back in good energy soon. Sad on the passing of Dr Jane Goodall but she put the life granted her to very effective use and opened the eyes (and hearts) of generation that follow.
ReplyDeleteNot many of us contribute as she did to the earth and its inhabitants.
DeleteI'll be back on top soon.
I've heard that drinking lots of water after getting a shot is a good idea, along with waving your arm about. I generally do both and so far haven't had a huge reaction to any of the shots. It's beginning to appear as though we will be forced to get the Moderna covid shot this time and we're not overly thrilled with the prospect. Too many people we know have had really bad reactions and a couple were left with long term problems. I'm sure there are some that have reacted poorly to Pfizer as well but we don't know any of them personally. Last year we got both the flu and the covid booster at the same time (different arms) but don't know if that will be possible this year. I'm sorry you're feeling punky after your shot - hopefully you return to normal soon.
