Misfits and vax aftermath

Thursday morning was divided between reading the Cazalets and sleeping.

Then Misfits arrived, Haleem waving cheerfully, and here's the goods.

Cans for the food pantry, tiny fruit yogurt free for points, container of oat milk no idea why, maybe a promotion, flax seed for the oatmeal wraps, spinach and chicken pieces likewise, potatoes to roast with chicken, apples for mid mornings, strawberries for dessert with regular yogurt, red lentils because I'm out of them, cilantro for all sorts of reasons.

Aside from the beauty of this food, one reason I do the unboxing pictures is in case I need to show Misfits staff wrong items or ask about missing ones. They usually take my word for it though.  Nice people to work with.

At some point I have to compose a sheet to accompany the artworks I'm delivering Saturday, bio, remarks, etc. I'll make it brief. General statements instead of listing all the exhibits and public and private collections. It's a lot. Tldr threatens. Also I'm tired.

Thursday was about do a task, rest, do a task, rest, endlessly. My energy flags after a few minutes.  Friday will be better. My arm is not too bad today, maybe waving it about helped.

Pot of tea after the food was washed and organized soon. Later  oatmeal wraps and roast chicken pieces.

Happy day everyone, very solemn season for the observant, and  sad that Jane Goodall has left us.

  1. Perfect quote fro. Jane Goodall. It should form the basis of a religion (but someone would subvert it) I'd follow it as a maxim for life as a matter of principle and life choice.

    1. It's what I order. That's how I keep up my interest in food, important in old age.

  4. Glad you’re improving. I enjoy your Misfits photos and never appreciated another reason you’d be documenting the deliveries. How many years ago did Jane Goodall make that powerful statement, I wonder. How many people have listened? Not enough.

    1. Another reason is to give them PR they deserve for unfailing good service and quality.
I think Jane has been making that statement for many years in one form or another. We all need to boost the signal.

    1. It's not comfortable tooting your own horn. And I'm more interested in what I'm making now than how I got here.

  6. Attacks are never justified, but making one on a most holy day is cruel.
Glad to hear you're feeling brighter.

    1. Yes, the world has never been safe for Jews, and less so now. Gentiles need to step up.

  7. I have terrible reactions to several vaccines...especially to covid. But I was taking them during my cancer treatments, so that probably didn't help.
I enjoy seeing what you get from the pink truck every time. :)
Jabe Goodall was a special, loving human being. We were all lucky she was here.

    1. I can't imagine vax on top of cancer treatment could have been less than miserable.
The pinkness of the truck is somehow part of the pleasure!
I agree, lucky to have had her.

  9. A few weeks back you put up a picture of a line drawing of a flower you were planning to send. I've kept a note; it was so perfectly economical I hope you enjoy being part of the exhibition.

    1. Thank you! Yes, I hear from the organizers that it's a strong show, so that will be good company.

  10. As always, great goodies from Misfits. I love that quote from Jane Goodall - she was one in a million, that's for sure.

    1. Her words are worth noting and following, yes. Because she lived them herself.

If only more people would follow the words of Jane Goodall.

  12. I worried a little about you all day yesterday, knowing that you must have been feeling pretty rough and that you were getting your Misfits box and would have to deal with it. But it sounds like you did just fine. Today may be a little slow too though.
I think the Jane Goodall quote says it all.

  14. I saw where someone asked Goodall at a speaking engagement what her next big adventure was and she immediately replied "Death!", shocking everyone. She said if there's no beyond then that's fine and she's done but if there is something she can't wait to see what it is.

    1. All the food is good. With produce it's usually size that knocks them off the high end supermarket shipment. Potatoes are random sizes, not as uniform as required. Or produce may be surplus to requirements. So I get great food at a discount.

  17. I belatedly 'third' convolvulus, probably good old pestiferous perennial bindweed.

Glad you're starting to bounce back post-jab. You're wise to clear your calendar for a couple of days after. I got my jab a week ago, and remembered to wave my arm around.

    May the exhibition go well.

What an exemplar and all around amazing person Jane Goodall was. Now we, and the younger generation which she nurtured, must carry the torch. I loved Catalyst's anecdote. It's exactly how she thought.

    1. Jane permanently influenced my use of water. After her documentary on women and girls in African countries spending hours daily finding and carrying it, I've become much more frugal. Better for the earth.

  18. I'm thinking I may as well get the Covid vax while my foot is still laid up. Why waste the extra days?! I know I'll be crummy the day after.
