Yesterday brought interesting packages I'd forgotten ordering.
Here's a salute to the environment and to Black owned business. Bamboo tp, no trees felled to make it, withdrawing my shopping from the white owned tree felling companies.
They're very well run, organized, and shipped fast. So I'm giving them a shout out.
It's not enough to boycott the white owned businesses abandoning DEIA. We need to look for business run by the people they're hurting, and build them up. This too is resistance.
And the vintage cups I ordered, matching my plates, arrived. Amazing packing
Second Joy on Etsy is the seller and I'm really pleased with them. They're posing here with the plate to prove they're related.
This was a little indulgence, since I rarely buy anything that's not a vital need. I wonder if there's a teapot in this design out there..
Then to put everyone out of their riddle misery, the answer is:
The man referred to by the speaker is his son.
After someone mentioned going online to find the answer I thought I'd see what was there. Wow! Heated debates, many weird conclusions, a lack of reading for comprehension, an insistence that it was about theology, it was hilarious. People get so serious.
I can explain if you want a roadmap.
And accidental art down the street after a rainstorm
Simple people, swept up in the winds of change, one minute sitting chatting, the next struggling to survive the hurricane. Artist: M. Nature.
Happy day everyone, raining again today. The hammering you hear is Gary building a neighborhood ark.
I like the orphans of the storm - may they soon find their home.
ReplyDeleteThe storm continues...
DeleteI admire how you put your resistance into action!
ReplyDeleteWhat a person says is one thing. What they do matters more.
DeleteGreat to know of another bamboo TP outfit. An acquaintance did research to find sustainable and no plastic packaging outfits for lots of things a few years ago. This company sounds like it should definitely be on the list!
ReplyDeleteYes, for many reasons.
DeleteYes, that was me who looked up the riddle on Duck, Duck, Goose. I'm trying not to use Google for searches right now so it's Duck, Duck, Goose or Bing. I still have gmail for my email because it seems too complicated to change my email address. So resisting Google searches is a start.
ReplyDeleteI ditched Google search in favor of ddg a while back. I agree, it's resistance. And G is using ai more and more. I'm told I have gmail, but I've never checked!
DeleteHere's a warning about Corning Ware- it WILL break. I have seen it. And if it does, those are the sharpest shards you will ever come across. Of course it is much harder to break than porcelain but it does happen.
ReplyDeleteHurray for you for finding a substitute for the same old toilet paper manufactured by the Machine! As always, you not only talk the talk, you walk that walk.
Speaking of walks- poor little gnomes. The tragedy!
I've broken corning ware, to my annoyance, including a lovely deep pan they don't make any more. But I don't think it chips when you bump it on a shelf, my besetting sin.
DeleteIt's an odd way to salute Black business, but okay!
The gnomes, gnomore peace..
I'll look into the tp. I think looking for a matching teapot is in order. I enjoy your humor and the accidental art.
ReplyDeleteI think the search would be fun. I can't find out if this pattern has a name.
DeleteThe little folk wisely decided to hit the deck - the safest place for them in a storm.
ReplyDeleteThat's a valid interpretation.
DeleteGood job finding that company and thanks for the information.
ReplyDeleteI hope it's useful.
DeleteM Nature can be severe!!
ReplyDeleteI use Who Gives a Crap bamboo paper..very nice and the roll wrapping is very useful too.
These rolls are wrapped in a lovely soft black patterned paper. It would make great beads, if I ever get into beading again!
DeleteYou are a leader and you lead by example. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteThank you. I can't say I think of myself that way, but I'll take it!
DeleteGreat choice to buy that loo roll.
ReplyDeleteIt's one of the few multi purpose resistances I've tried yet!
DeleteI didn't know tp could/is made with bamboo...very interesting. Wonder if anyone sells it here.
ReplyDeleteCorelle is practically unbreakable but if it ever does it shatters into a gazillion sharp-as-needles teeny little pieces and sounds like a bomb going off. Don't ask me how I know!
Btdt with Corelle! I expect you do have bamboo tp if you search.
DeleteThat business sounds wonderful. I love your dishes!
ReplyDeleteI'm told there's a newsletter that puts people in touch with minority owned businesses, so I'll follow up and let you know.
DeleteWhile I already knew the answer to who the person is, it does not make sense to me. I like the pattern on the new china.
ReplyDeleteShall I expand on the riddle? Let me know.
DeleteI found out more about the dishes. Stay tuned.
I am to the point where I only buy essentials for myself. I don’t need any more stuff either.
ReplyDeleteYes, it's more about shedding than buying usually.
DeleteThose gnomes aren't too far from their sofa, so there's hope.
ReplyDeleteSofa, so good.
DeleteOh I love reading those kind of posts. Everyone arguing like their lives depends on them winning the argument. Such a waste of time and effort
ReplyDeleteLife is short. Buy the little indulgence’s, enjoy them and use them in good health
Yes, people really get wound up! I agree, just enjoy what you can.
DeleteIs the TP black too or just the wrapper? Cute "art" by nature.
ReplyDeleteThe roll is a pale bamboo beige color. The wrapping just emphasizes it's a Black owned company.
DeleteIs that a teeny tiny couch next to them? How cute is that?
ReplyDeleteYes. They were sitting on it when the great storm came!
Delete:)
