Dogwood and duffers

This morning Sevi Ballesteros died, way too young, a massively talented golfer and nice man, who added a touch of light relief to the too-earnest golf world, and won over even nongolfers such as I.

Yesterday I happened to catch a duffer on the golf course out back, vaguely wondering where his ball had gone, and no doubt his game, and that of a lot of other weekend hackers, who are thrilled and high-fiving if a drive goes more than fifty yards, was influenced by people like Sevi, even if he doesn't know it.

He was having a lovely spring day out on the course.

The dogwoods are a little tribute to Sevi's last spring.
